Madonna going to / leaving her gym in London
Vanity Fair will auction off the one-of-a-kind globe featured with Madonna on the cover of the May Green Issue and signed by her, along with two tickets to a very special performance by Madonna in New York City at the end of April. All proceeds will benefit Raising Malawi, a charity committed to revitalizing the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Malawi, Africa.
The May issue marks Madonna's 10th appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair. Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, she is pictured leaning against the globe, which is four feet in diameter and weighs approximately eighty pounds. The inspiration for the image came to editor Graydon Carter from a midcentury fashion-magazine cover, and Vanity Fair's fashion and style director, Michael Roberts, sketched several images, channeling not just the fashion cover but also the work of Czech photographer Frantisek Drtikol from the 20s.
The orb was suspended from the ceiling during the photo shoot at Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles on February 21, 2008. Following the shoot, Madonna signed the globe and drew a heart over Africa.
Bidders may go to www.vanityfair.com to be connected to eBay where they may bid on the globe and the tickets. Bidding begins today and will end on April 18.
The event is being managed on eBay Giving Works, eBay's dedicated program for charity listings, by Auction Cause, a premier online auction management agency specializing in high-profile design, strategy, and cause marketing for corporations and nonprofits worldwide.

Adopt Again?
Madonna's adoption of David from Africa still isn't final, and she already has her sights set on India.
Madonna recently met with Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrker, who just adopted an Indian girl, and he convinced Madge to do the same. Sources say Guy was hesitant at first, but has come around on the idea. Keeping up with the Jolie-Pitts!

Move Back To Hometown?
The city of Bay City, Michigan wants Madonna to return to her hometown. The mayor has even offered her a key to the city! They want to have a hometown celebration in honor of Madge, complete with musicians who would cover her big hits, and having an artist sculpt a statue of her.
Bay City doesn't exactly seem like the place Madge would want to live. The fam seems pretty content in London. Plus, she just built that mega gym right next door to the compound. From the looks of it, Madge isn't moving any time soon.

Britney Is Like Africa
Despite the fact that Madonna and Britney Spears aren't BFF's anymore, Madge claims to be concerned about Brit's well being and calls the press coverage of her problems a "terrible infliction of cruelty".
She tells MSNBC.com, "It's very painful (seeing pictures of Spears). When you think about the way people treat each other in Africa, about witchcraft and people inflicting cruelty and pain on each other, then come back here and, you know, people taking pictures of people when they're in their homes, being taken to hospitals, or suffering, and selling them, getting energy from them, that's a terrible infliction of cruelty. "So who's worse off? You know what I mean?"
Don't fell too bad for Britney, she banked a pretty penny off of almost every paparazzi shot taken of her, those shinny Mercedes don't buy themselves ya know!

Adoption
Madonna may be on the top of the charts with her latest single “4 minutes to save the world,” but she is struggling to save her child. It’s been a year and a half and Malawi’s government still hasn’t fully approved Madonna’s adoption proceedings.
Two-year-old David Bana has been living with Madge and her hubby in their London home since 2006, but they still need to deal with legal proceedings with the High Court.
The government is stepping in for Madonna, recommending the court to acknowledge the adoption. Critics have been accusing the government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children in the southern African country.
Madonna is set to make a trip to Malawi in April for a court hearing. The hearing was supposed to take place next week, but her lawyers requested an extension due to engagements she had here in the states.
The High Courts should look at the big picture, David has been under great care and Malawi has an AIDS epidemic that leaves more than 1 million children orphaned a year. Let’s be honest, more people have learned about Malawi through Madonna than high school geography. It’s time to accept it and move on!
